| | Well, where to start with this weblog…? After two months of traveling through China and almost one week working now at CNET China, I will start telling my story in a reverse order… Adding once in a while the different stations of my holiday (linked with many pictures J).
The first days within CNET are scheduled with meetings and trainings to learn a quick overview about IT Media business models in general and CNET’s models specially. My group (called IIS) is the international department of CNET China and has only non Chinese employees … while I am the only without mandarin language skills… Hmm… time to start my language course finally!!
I am living with two group members together in an apartment next to the office which is quite comfortable for me as they both handling anything in Chinese J.
Coming home last Wednesday after work, expecting our cleaning mate waiting outside the apartment, I got surprised by a flood streaming out of our flat down to 7th and even 6th floor…Turning on the Washing machine in the morning, it must have continuously pumping water into all rooms for hours already as the water was about 3 inches high…
After hours of getting the water out we were facing serious trouble as the downstairs neighbors were complaining that there rooms were flooded as well and they gonna expect a compensation for that… and our landlord (who’s owning as well all the furniture and washing machine, etc.) has no insurance (neither one of us) and is not willing to pay but want us to pay as well for the broken machine now…
Anyway the company’s lawyer tries to figure out all the options for us…. as CNET is the official tenant…. |
